Arne Quinze and a gallery in Belgium

La Galerie de Pierre Bergé & associés in Belgium focuses on Contemporary Design and opened this gallery. This exhibition of Arne Quinze’s work looks like its amazing, but it’s the installation outside that I think is noteworthy. There a million galleries in a million cities and a million different posters, cards and books promoting designer’s shows, but this takes it to the next level. If you are serious gallery, and you want to establish your commitment to art and design, you come up with the resources to let a talent like Arne Quinze do something like this. It speaks to the credibility of your business. They are not the first people to try something like this, but they’re savvy enough to choose the right designer, and he has done it well.

Gilbert & George and the Personal Brand

img_0138-1024x768

This pic is from a Gilbert & George produced photograph at MOMA. It’s a GG stamp to authenticate this work. If you’re familiar with them you know they decided that their actual lives were art and through their work have influenced many creative people. This little logo is very cool. G&G strike me as the first modern creative people to brand themselves.  Any thoughts?
